I found another Paris blog to read. I’ll include it in my blogroll. It’s by a woman who decided to try something new, not because she didn’t like her life, but just for the adventure of it. So she quit her job and moved to Paris for a few months. She’s back in the U.S., but intends to return. Her blog is about the adventure.

I found her through this other site that my friend, the one who’s going to Paris with me, sent to me. It’s filled with information and links to other blogs about Paris.

This blog is no longer what the first post said it was. I guess I’m taking it back as a personal blog, but I’ll stay on topic with this one. It’ll be about what I discover about all things French, and Paris in particular.

My ticket to Paris is bought! I go Sept. 2012. I can’t wait. Soon Paris won’t just be a dream, but I’m sure I’ll continue to dream of it even after I’ve visited. I’m going to begin to collect info for the trip and keep it here on this on blog, I think. And once in Paris, I’ll use this to journal about the trip.

Study Group begins August 4

I posted the date, time, and place of the first meeting of the new format on our meetup site. A few days after I posted it I received word that not only did I get a new job, I get to keep my old one, that of adjunct professor. What that means is that I’m scheduled to teach a class at the same time that I scheduled the study group. I don’t start that class until the end of August, so for now, the time stands. If it looks like the new study group is going to get off the ground, we can discuss a new day when we get together.

For the first meetup we will begin with the July 20-22 posts of the site One Thing in a French Day. A link to the site will always be in the link list at the top left. To the right are links to its Twitter feed.

I will be uploading an accompanying study guide file to the meetup group’s file archive each week. See you in August!

Study Group Summer Break

We’ve finished our BBC Ma France series and are off for a short summer break. We’ll be back in August with a new format, and possibly a new place and time. All of that is on the table for discussion. For now, please check out the blog One Thing in a French Day. It’s about the life of Laetitia and her family in France, written in French, and it includes podcasts of the posts so that you can hear them being spoken. If you like this site and think it would work well for our group, please let me know in the comments.
